Following a Working Group Meeting held on Monday 23rd February 2026 at Werrington Methodist Church, to which all residents were invited, the following 2026 Working Plan has been agreed for Meigh Road Playing Fields:
- Drainage Consultation
Commission and undertake a drainage consultation to assess current issues and identify appropriate remedial actions.
- Formation of a Volunteer Group
Continue engagement with residents to generate interest in forming a Volunteer Group. The purpose of the group will be to help shape the future of Meigh Road Playing Fields and support applications for external grant funding.
- MUGA Soakaway Drainage Improvements
Submit an application for Section 106 (S106) funding and obtain quotations to replace the MUGA soakaway drainage system, where it is currently connected to the land drain.
- Basket Swing Review
Subject to the newly installed four-way springer remaining undamaged by anti-social behaviour (ASB), review quotations for a basket swing in April and consider its installation.
- Football Pitch Improvements
Apply for S106 funding and obtain quotations to replace the football pitch goals and to undertake pitch improvement works, including verti-draining and aeration, over a 12-month period.
- Wooded Area Maintenance
Improve the ongoing maintenance and management of the wooded area by the Parish Council to ensure it is kept in a safe and presentable condition.
